C&C's Swift response to Liverpool Arena Fire

C&C Insurance Brokers got their clients motoring again following a swift response to claims from victims of the Liverpool Arena fire.

C&C helped motorists get back on the road after 1,500 vehicles were destroyed in a huge fire which engulfed a city centre car park. The blaze ripped through the multi-storey in King’s Dock, Liverpool, next to the Echo Arena, on New Year’s Eve.

The independent insurance broker had five clients vehicles involved in the fire with values totalling in excess of £140,000 and succeeded in agreeing settlement of all those claims within 6 working days.

Malcolm Cooke, Managing Director of C&C Insurance Brokers, based in Stockport, said:

“Working closely with insurers in these exceptional circumstances has enabled us to settle claims quickly and help get our clients back on the road.

“It’s also great to see the use of drones being used by insurers to investigate these claims, anything that can speed up the process can only be of benefit for in the future.”

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson called for an “extraordinary response” from insurance firms to help car owners - and Malcolm went onto praise his team for their efforts in supporting C&C’s clients.

Evidence so far suggests the blaze began accidentally in a Land Rover’s engine and ripped through the car park as fuel set alight and other engines exploded.

The building is expected to be demolished once structural engineers have concluded their investigation.

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) estimated that companies could end up paying out in excess of £20 million.
